Apologetics.
Apologetics is the branch of Christian theology that deals with the defense and justification of the Christian faith. It involves providing rational arguments and evidence for the truth of Christian beliefs and responding to objections or criticisms.
The word "apologetics" comes from the Greek word "apologia," which means "defense." In the New Testament, the apostle Peter encourages believers always to be prepared to give a reason for the hope in them (1 Peter 3:15).
Apologetics covers a wide range of topics, including God's existence, the Bible's reliability, the person and work of Jesus Christ, the problem of evil, and more. It is an essential discipline for believers to engage in, as it helps strengthen their faith and equip them to share the gospel with others.
In this episode, we interview Christian apologist, author, and speaker Curt Blattman. Our discussion with Curt will encourage the Christian and challenge the skeptic on why the Bible should not only be read but believed to help all of us experience peace and joy as we travel on this journey called life. This interview will demonstrate why we can have complete confidence in the Bible as God’s Word and how it can encourage our souls with fresh manna daily.
Our Guest Bio: Curt Blattman | Website
Hello. My name is Curt Blattman. I grew up and have spent my whole life living in New York City. I am 69 years old and am married to the love of my life, Meiying. I have one daughter, Desirae, who is 37 years old and lives and works in New Jersey. Back around 1980, I started on an intense quest to find out what the purpose of life was. I was an atheist back then, but after being exposed to the gospel message of Jesus I began to realize that I was a sinner and after six months of learning more about God, on October 12, 1981, I gave my heart to Jesus. Today, 40 years later, I have grown so much in my love of the Lord. My first career was as a banker at JP Morgan Chase. My second career was as a counselor at the Bowery Mission. And now, my third career is as a traveling apologist. I have an Economics degree from Princeton University, an MBA in Finance from New York University, and a master’s degree in Apologetics from Biola University.
