Understanding what the book of Genesis says about the origin of all things is foundational to understanding the Bible. If chapters 1 and 2 of Genesis are not the truth about the beginning of all things, how can we believe the rest of the scriptures? Especially when the New Testament claims that our creator is also our redeemer. Because if God is not our creator, how can he be our redeemer?
In an "evolving world," defending the Christian worldview is challenging, and many Christians lack the knowledge and confidence to defend the Bible vigorously. Unfamiliarity with God's Word and what it says about how everything came to be is not a justification for a retreat from the battlefield of ideas.

Dr. Terry Mortenson A speaker, writer, and researcher for Answers in Genesis. B.A. math (Univ. of Minn.), M.Div. (Trinity Evang. Div. Sch.)
